We have some new neighbors a block away with a 3 year old little girl named Reagan. She and Brendan really hit it off and we like the neighbors too. Every night we go on a walk or a bike ride and most of the time we end up at their house chatting while the kids play. Last night was typical--it started that way, anyway.
They had their sprinkler out and another boy in the neighborhood, Quinn, who is 5, started playing in it. Reagan would run to the edge of the water, scream, and run away. Brendan decided that looked like fun so he joined in. In fact, he decided to get in the water with Quinn, but he stayed on the edges so he didn't get too wet. After a while, Quinn was so soaked he took his shirt off. Of course, Brendan had to have his shirt off too, because Quinn did. So, naturally, Reagan had to take her shirt off as well. That would be embarrassing toddler moment #427--our sweet son corrupting the innocent neighbor child into running around topless.
It wasn't long until Quinn, lost his shoes and of course Brendan and Reagan followed suit. They all had a great time playing the in the sprinkler while the adults were talking, and then it hits us. Embarrassing toddler moment #428. Brendan--on his own, without encouragement from Quinn--decides that it is so nice to be free of his shirt and shoes, that he strips off his undies and preparing to run around completely naked. We stopped him with the undies around the knees, but sadly, by this time his clothes were so wet, he couldn't get them up on his own and needed help. In the time it took to get the water off and over there to help, everyone got a lengthy peep show.
We didn't last much longer after that and wouldn't be at all shocked if the neighbors are a bit wary of Brendan who not only has shown an affinity for getting naked in public, but has encourage their daughter to do so as well.
