The Cutest Ring Bearer Ever

We've had a week to recover, so here is the long awaited story of the cutest ring bearer ever.

Brendan was very excited about Uncle Kevin's wedding in general. Although we'd been trying to explain it all to him for a while, he just didn't seem to get it. At the rehearsal, Brendan had no desire to walk down the aisle or stand up front. But at the wedding, he changed his tune.

We went in the room where all the guys were getting ready, and when he saw all of the guys in tuxes, especially Uncle Kevin, he was excited to wear his too. So, every single piece we put on he'd shout, "Look! Uncle Kevin! Guys! I have on my pants! Look! Uncle Kevin! Guys! I have on my socks!" The guys were all absolutely fantastic with Brendan. He had so much fun with them and they made him feel so great about himself. Within half an hour Brendan was super excited to stand up front by Uncle Kevin and the guys at the ceremony.

So, I walked B up the aisle and then he went and stood up front. One of the best men slipped Brendan a fire truck to keep in his pocket. Brendan was hilarious throughout the ceremony. He kept bending over on his side and checking his pocket every minute or two throughout the whole thing. He put the corner of his ring bearer's pillow in his mouth and started shaking his head, swinging it from side to side. The he'd take the ribbons on top and start swinging the pillow in circles. Afterwards, everyone talked about how cute he was (and so handsome in his tux!).

When the ceremony was over, he started down the steps off the stage, looked up at the crowd, got scared, and froze. The best mand tried to help him, but Brendan was just frozen. Then he started crying hysterically and ran for me. It took about 15 minutes before he would stop crying and remove his face from my neck. The poor baby was so scared. After that he did great, though.

He was also a hit at the reception. He snuck back around the cake when Kevin and Rachel were cutting it to get a better look. "Wow!!!! That's a giant cake!!!! I want some!!!!" That had people laughing. And then he danced and danced, before people really started getting up to dance so everyone got a nice show then. We were just so proud of what a great job he did. If he'd been any cuter, he'd have upstaged the bride and groom.
