Welcome Peyton Lesley Metcalf!

Peyton arrived in a hurry on April 4, 2009. After being one bedrest more or less from December 26-late February, and then "taking it easy" after that to keep Peyton from coming early, nobody expected that Peyton would stay put so long. But, he cooperated better than we hoped and arrived exactly one week early.

When he finally decided he was ready to be born, he was certainly impatient. It was a little less than three and a half hours from the first contraction to his birth. Brendan had to go to the hospital with us, and then after they checked be and pronounced it as "the real thing," Kyle left and took him to my friend Kristen's house and hightailed it back--it was probably one of the quickest trips covering that distance ever. Of course, it helped that it was 1 am. Brendan was a little nervous while at the hospital, but as soon as Kyle asked him if he was ready to go to Miss Kristen's house, all was forgotten. Brendan's response was, "Do they have hot dogs there?" Don't ask me why he was thinking about hot dogs at 1 am, after being dragged out of bed to the hospital because Mommy had a "tummyache" and Peyton was ready to come out. It obviously made sense to him at the time.

So without further ado, here is Baby Peyton:
