What?!

We went out to dinner on Friday night and Brendan was very interested in the building. He asked us who built the building, and when we told him that we didn't know, this happened:

B: Was it that brown boy? (pointing at one of the black servers crossing the room)
Us: (looks of horror on our faces)
L: Brendan, that's not nice to say. Just ask if it was that boy. It's not nice to talk about how people look.
B: But who built this building?
K: Pirates. They built a lot of the building around here.
L: (look of confusion)
B: oh, ok.

So, if Brendan ever asks you if pirates work on tractors, that's why.
